Gleim Announces Committee Assignments
January 18, 2019
HARRISBURG – Rep. Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland) today announced she has been appointed to serve on the House Education, Children and Youth, Human Services, and Game and Fisheries Committees for the 2019-20 legislative session.
“I’m pleased to work on these committee assignments and intend to make an impact on related issues with my colleagues. The Education Committee works on all issues involving public and private schools in Pennsylvania, encompassing pre-K through grade 12 basic education, as well as post-secondary education. It is a committee which closely aligns with my experience and considers and reports legislation involving every aspect of educating our children in the 500 school districts across the Commonwealth. I’m excited to be working on these issues, as well as those related to the other three committees, that will impact the economy of the state and the lives of so many Pennsylvanians.”
The House Game and Fisheries Committee receives and reviews annual performance and status reports from the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. It also approves the setting of license fees that support each commission and addresses all legislation affecting them.
Gleim said community service has been a big part of her life and she looks forward to working on the Human Services and Children and Youth Committees to assist Pennsylvanians. Cumberland County has a robust support network that is respected statewide and she will use her experience in these areas to push needed legislation forward.
